There are standbys and there is the Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich. This is the king and queen of comfort foods, the best afternoon or late night snack, and hell, it would be a great breakfast too.
You see, you don’t have to get all fancy and shit with a sandwich. Yes a good sandwich is nice and all, but if it takes you an hour to make it, what good is that? That’s an hour you’ll never get back. Your enjoyment of eating the sandwich won’t even take that long.
But it’s not all about ease. It’s about what you WANT. You know you want something tasty. You want something sweet. You want protein and vitamins and shit. Well peanut butter and jelly satisfy ALL those requirements. You want more protein? Use more peanut butter. You want more fruity vitamins? Use more jelly. Are you trying to carbo-load like a goddamn boss? Use more bread and MAKE A DOUBLE DECKER PB&J.
And in addition to all these finer points mentioned above, a PB&J is like sex. I can understand that maybe you’re not in the mood, but would you ever turn either down? Hell no. Unless you’re allergic to peanut butter or doin it. And if that’s the case, well, I’m sorry, and you should see a doctor about that.
All in all, the Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich is sexy, nutritious, easy, and is another proof of Occam’s Razor: the simplest solution is the oftentimes the best solution.
