Iced Tease

You know that thing where you let people inside your house? Like, the UPS dude, Agent Clarice Starling of the FBI or Eric Northman? And you know how you always offer them a refreshing beverage? Well, I do that too. Most times that beverage is iced tea and the iced tea is sweet. BECAUSE THAT’S THE WAY IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE.

Of course you have your preferences and I have mine. I understand if you have issues with sugar, like it will make you dead or something, but really, sweet tea is the way to go with iced tea. Hopefully, served in a canning jar.

Now you can talk about adding things like mint and lemon and that is adorable. But allow me to share the one tried and true method for perfect iced tea, handed down by my grandma:

2 cups of boiling water
poured over 6 regular sized teabags
steep until cool then remove teabags
1/8 teaspoon baking soda (takes away the bitterness)
at least 1 cup granulated white sugar
cold water added to preferred strength

Your tea will become cloudy if you put it in the refrigerator while warm. If you add some boiling water it will clear.
